First of all, I wanted to personally thank everyone who attended the Chat With The Elders meeting this last Sunday. Your attendance, responses and thoughtful comments are much appreciated. As promised, I am sending out a very lengthy and detailed information packet regarding some of the issues troubling our denomination. There is a lot to wade through.
The format requires the free Adobe Acrobat PDF reader. If you don’t already have this installed on your computer, you can download the latest version for free: Adobe Reader
How to use this packet:
-
This packet is 106 pages long and as such I recommend that you avoid printing the whole thing. If it is inconvenient to read on the computer screen, I would suggest you browse to an item of interest and print specific pages.
-
The most important key to this packet is the Outline of Articles and Links on Pages 2-3. This will help guide you through the materials and stay organized. This outline can be easily printed and shared. Click on the links to take you to the original website article or source. As an alternative, you can browse some of the same links and resources here: http://www.firstpresyakima.com/feature2b.cfm
-
This outline is also reflected in the Bookmark section of this PDF (highlighted to the left of the document). Clicking on a specific item in the outline will take you to that page in the PDF
-
Please feel free to share this packet. Since this file is very large, it is probably not a good idea to email it around. Rather, please share the link to this page and people can download it themselves much easier: http://www.firstpresyakima.com/feature2.cfm
-
Print selected items as appropriate for people who don’t have email or access to the internet. Abbreviated copies will be made available on request at the church office next week for those without internet access.
-
Share, talk about, and pray over this information with your small group, your family, etc as appropriate.
-
This packet is not perfect and especially as time goes on, there will be additional articles and responses that are worthy of our collective study. If needed, there may be revisions to this packet.
If there are any questions about the packet or comments, feel free to send me an email. I will do my best to answer or point you to someone who might have an answer. If you know of others who would also like to be kept informed on future revisions, go ahead and share my email with them. Upon their request, I will add them to my mailing list. I can’t promise regular updates, but I will do what I can to disseminate new information as appropriate.
May Christ rule our Hearts, Minds, and Conversations!
